Chuchu

Updated 2026-10-17· Patch 1.6.0Minor, Material

Chuchus are the soft blobs on the roadside. There are four: plain, fire, ice and electric. They barely chase you, but touching the elemental ones sets you on fire, freezes you, or knocks the metal weapon out of your hand. Stay back and shoot them.

Which jelly you actually need

A plain Chuchu drops clear jelly. Fire drops red, ice drops white, electric drops yellow. Great Fairies ask for these by color when you upgrade armor, so a blob on the path is a material stop, not something to jog past.

Fire Chuchus show up more around Eldin, ice ones in the Hebra cold, electric ones where storms gather, such as Lanayru. The plain ones are everywhere: forest edges, ruins and wet grass. None of them have a real combo. One arrow, a spear thrust from outside their hop, or a remote bomb is enough.

Turn plain jelly into the color you want

The jelly takes the element of the hit that finishes the Chuchu. Kill a plain one with an ice arrow, an ice blade or an ice rod and the drop is white. Fire makes it red, lightning makes it yellow. If you are short on white jelly, carry ice arrows and hunt the plain blobs instead of hiking to Hebra.

An elemental Chuchu can be flipped the same way if the killing blow is a different element. Do the color change on the last hit, not on the first poke, or a later normal swing can leave you with clear jelly again. They return on the blood moon, in the same patches of ground.
