Octorok

Water Octoroks sit under rivers and lakes. In the rain they float and spit rocks at anyone on the bank. An arrow sinks them. You can also raise the shield and parry the rock back into the eye, which stuns them for a few free hits.

Forest and Snow Octoroks hide in the ground and spit plain rocks, with no fire. Forest ones sit under grass in the woods, snow ones under drifts in Hebra and the snowfields. Step in close and they duck. Cut the grass or the snow sitting on the head and the body comes out, where a normal swing reaches it. One arrow into the bush is not enough if the camouflage is still there.

Rock Octoroks spit a rock that bursts into fire. They also inhale whatever is lying nearby and spit it back at you. You cannot chop the stone on their head the way you chop grass, and an arrow makes them duck. Throw a remote bomb. They suck it in. Detonate.

The useful trick is the inhale. Drop a rusty weapon in front of it and it spits out a real weapon you can equip. Each Rock Octorok does this once, then you wait for the next blood moon. Feed it the rust first if you want the weapon. Blow it up after, or you lose the repair.

Sky Octoroks do not hurt you. They hold up a floating platform. Enemies stand on it, and chests ride there too. Shoot the Octorok and the platform drops, which dumps the camp onto the ground where you can fight it.

A Treasure Octorok is a chest. Walk up to open it and it launches you, then burrows and fades out, which is why it is hard to kill and hard to photograph. Put on the Champion's Tunic. A chest with a health bar is the fake. Shoot it, or freeze it with Stasis, before you press the open button. Kill it before it vanishes and you get the gems or rupees it was hiding.
