Revali's Gale
Revali's Gale creates an updraft that carries you straight up so the paraglider can take over. You unlock it by freeing Divine Beast Vah Medoh with the Rito. It holds three charges.
What you spend a charge on
Use it to leave a pit, reach a shrine ledge with no climbing route, or start a glide across a canyon. Climbing in the rain is miserable. One charge skips the wet wall. It also launches you out of a Guardian's lock-on if you are already too close to run.
The updraft does not move you sideways. Jump, open the paraglider, then steer. If you open it late you waste the height. If a Lynel is under you, do not land back on the same spot.
Charges and the Rito quest
Three pips sit next to the ability icon. Using one starts its own refill. You can bank all three for a tower you do not feel like climbing. Do not empty them on small hills if the next region is a maze of cliffs.
The quest starts in Rito Village in the Hebra region. Teba helps you reach Vah Medoh. Windblight Ganon is the boss inside. The Gale is the reward, and it is the ability that most changes how you cross the map. Save one charge for the way down. Jumping off a tower with an empty gauge is how you lose the glide you climbed for.
