October 2026 Balance Changes: What Actually Matters
Season 88 reopened Log Bait and Wall Breaker lines while trimming the cheapest cycle answers. If you climbed with Evo Cannon and Skeletons, expect harder matchups this week.
Buffs that change the ladder
Goblin Barrel deals more reliable tower damage after the buff. Bait decks that already force The Log now punish a single miss harder. Expect more Princess plus Barrel openings in the first minute.
Wall Breakers also came up. Bridgespam and split-lane chip can reconnect if the opponent spends their small spell on something else. Pair that with a tanky support and one tower evaporates fast.
Ram Rider, Lava Hound, X-Bow and Goblin Drill received support as well. They matter more in niche matchups than as a full meta takeover, but Drill bait and Lava control both feel healthier.
Nerfs that hurt cycle
Skeletons, Evolved Cannon and Hero Ice Wizard were trimmed. Pure cycle shells lose a bit of free defense. Mortar Cart still works, but the margin for a greedy Mortar drop is thinner.
Barbarian Barrel was also adjusted. Decks that used it as a perfect answer to swarms need a cleaner timing, especially against Evo Skeleton Barrel and Goblin Gang.
What to play this week
If you like bait, bring Hero Knight Log Bait or Mighty Miner bait. If you like siege, stay on Evo Mortar Cart but respect the Barrel matchup. Mid-ladder Hog 2.6 remains fine because execution still beats raw meta there.
