Horriblin

Updated 2026-10-16· Patch 1.2.1Humanoid, Cave

Horriblins live on cave ceilings. They look like thin Bokoblins, they hang upside down, and they drop when you walk underneath. A brightbloom on the floor lets you see the hands before the body falls. Their horns are a solid cave fuse, and the caves they guard usually hide a chest or a bubbul frog.

Pull them off the ceiling

Look up as soon as the cave opens up. If you see a pair of hands, shoot the body. It falls and stays stunned long enough for two swings. If you walk under it, it drops on your head and you lose that window. A bomb flower arrow into a cluster clears several at once, as long as the ceiling is high enough that you are not in the blast.

On the ground they fight like Bokoblins, then they climb back up and throw rocks. Do not chase one up a wall. Shoot it again, or wait at the bottom and hit it as it lands. The head is still the weak point. In a dark cave, throw another brightbloom before you start swinging, or you will lose track of which one is climbing.

Why the cave is worth it

Horriblin horns, claws and guts are the drops. The horn fuses like a Bokoblin horn and is a little stronger for the same color. Blue and black ones show up deeper in cave chains. Silver ones are rare and worth the arrows. The bubbul gem in the same cave is often the real prize, so listen for the frog after the fight.

They do not patrol the open field. If you are lost in a cave, follow the sound of rocks tapping, then look up. Blood Moons refill the ceilings. A cave you already looted can still be a horn run later, once the colors have climbed. Bring arrows. A melee-only trip through a Horriblin cave is how you get dropped on.
